Last fall, I created a Thanksgiving card using a watercolor technique that Julie Ann Davidse shared on the My Digital Studio (MDS) site. She credited the technique to Patty Bennett’s watercolor card, also on the MDS site, and I ultimately found the instructions on Cindy Schuster’s Watercoloring Technique video and her MDS Watercolor Technique Tutorial blog post.
Tonight, I finally got around to creating a spring version of the card, using the same technique with different colors:
Here are the details on the card:
- Background: Baja Breeze Grid Designer Series Paper, at 38% Opacity
- Tree:
- Dutch Elm from Lovely As A Tree Stamp Brush Set, in Always Artichoke
- Leaves are Splatter from Extreme Elements Stamp Brush Set, in Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi
- Flowers are Flowers from A Good Egg Stamp Brush Set, in Pink Pirouette
- Tree trunk is pieced from Rectangle and Petite Pennant Punches in Creamy Caramel
- Lower Band:
- Square Punch in Certainly Celery, with default drop shadow
- Flowers are Flowers from A Good Egg Stamp Brush Set, in Pink Pirouette, at 39% Opacity
- Sentiment: Sending Springtime from Easter Blossoms Stamp Brush Set, in Early Espresso
- Embellishment: Grosgrain Ribbon and Bow, in Always Artichoke, with default drop shadow
